Objective
To develop cohesive packaging guidelines for Slime’s multi-purpose inflators, ensuring a consistent, polished, and brand-aligned consumer experience across all products.
Context
Slime is a well-known global brand specializing in tire repair and sealant products. The company needed to unify the packaging design for its 
multi-purpose inflator line to maintain a consistent brand image. As an
intern, I was responsible for creating the Slime Inflator Packaging Guidelines, a comprehensive document aimed at harmonizing the appearance of all inflator products, thereby enhancing the overall consumer experience.
Research & Discovery
Initial Assessment
Collaborating with my supervisor, I thoroughly inspected the existing Slime inflator packaging. This process involved identifying inconsistencies in typography, color usage, layout, and branding elements across different product lines. We documented each discrepancy to guide the revision process.
Collaboration
I worked closely with the marketing department to ensure the guidelines aligned with Slime's brand identity. We analyzed key brand elements, such as logos, color schemes, and typography, and discussed how these could be effectively integrated into the packaging design to communicate the brand's values.
Timeline
The discovery phase spanned one month, during which we also gathered input from various employees to ensure the final guidelines met all company objectives.
Process
Design Iterations
After the initial research, I began drafting the guidelines. The process was highly collaborative, with frequent feedback loops between design, marketing, and product management teams. Each iteration aimed to refine the visual consistency across all packaging, focusing on layout structure, iconography, and visual hierarchy.
Development
Once the design elements were finalized, I compiled them into a 26-slide document. This document was a comprehensive guide for all current and future packaging designs, ensuring consistency across the brand's inflator line.
Outcome
The finalized guidelines were successfully integrated into Slime's daily marketing and design operations, establishing them as the central reference for all inflator product packaging. This effort resulted in a unified, professional, and easily recognizable brand presence across retail shelves, contributing to a positive consumer experience.
Building on the success of this project, I led another initiative to integrate new product photography into the packaging designs. This involved collaborating with my superior and the marketing team to ensure the new imagery aligned seamlessly with the established guidelines. The updated photography not only enhanced the visual appeal of the packaging but also reinforced the brand’s commitment to quality and consistency.
